Yesterday I bought a set of blank white skateboard wheels from Nick S. for $4 — which he got from here. I have to say, these wheels are by far the best skate wheels I have ever used!! :P After expecting to get some shit, loud, hard ones; I was WAY surprised with these. They’re way quiet, smooth, and soft. They also let me fly down hills with no problem. Right away I was still able to do all my flip tricks and such with no problem.
So I was thinking, I should start getting some skating on film and let Nick S. edit the footage to a few songs to be placed on DVD. Then we will give away or sell the DVDs to people. haha

This last weekend my family and I went to the Mississippi to camp and swim. We were there from the 3rd to the 6th, then we came home.
Today I skated with Nick S. for a bit and I bought a set of wheels from him. I also paid him back for the Hammock CDs he got me a while back.
I love these new wheels! Manuals are easier than ever.. and I can still do all my other tricks, but quieter!!!
Filming should be happening soon. I hope.
Nick S. and anyone else who wants to help can film some tricks and we can edit the stuff to make a full DVD of me that I can send to all my friends.

Yesterday and today I have been trying to get my old tricks back. So far I have been doing well in that attempt.
So far I have been practicing:
- bs/fs boardslides (with shovits out)
- fs lipslides
- bs crooked nose grinds (soon to try with shovits out)
- fs 50-50 and 5-0 grinds (with shovits and kickflips out)
- bs feeble grinds (landing is not so easy)
- bs 180 heelflips
- bs big flips
- 360 kickflips
- fs shovits (some 360)
- heelflips
- varial-heelflips
- manuals (many tricks in and out, and nose manuals)
- and many more..
Hopefully this attempt to get all these back and some will work out wonderfully for me!

Tonight I spent forever downloading the new OpenSuSE 11.0 Installation DVD to give the final a try.
It took me forever. For some reason the people who download the torrent version don’t seed worth shit.. and so I ended up going the http route. After 3 hours of downloading I had ~3 minutes left on the download, and bam! I accidentally hit the wrong key on the keyboard when switching to another window — this ends up restarting the whole download..
Finally at the end of the day I have the thing downloaded, burned to a DVD, and installed.
Simple Opinions:
Installation is easier than earlier versions and there are more options than with Ubuntu. Having more than one Hard drive with special data on it got a bit scary for me when it tried taking my large media drive with Music, Videos, and Pictures, and making it the system disk by defaut. So, I fixed that problem and carried on. In the end the install seemed to take a lot more time than Ubuntu’s new Installation method takes.
Note: I have 2.5GB’s of RAM, and a 3.0GHz P4 HT.
After a full install I noticed it had many programs that I did not want installed by default — I even chose to have some programs not installed durring the install. Anyways, there were way more default junk programs than Ubuntu even has.
Then I try to remove and install some other programs and the package manager stalls forever on me every time I try it, until it says ‘failure’. After is says it failed I click ‘Abort’ and it starts working and finishes as if that was the install button. Everytime! Go figure..
My sound, Internet, and Graphics work nice, but I can not get Compiz effects working. On Ubuntu (Hardy Heron) it just works for me right after install.
I do however love the font rendering.. somewhat. The text looks a bit too sharp, but it is a lot more space friendly compared to Ubuntu :) Windows seem to show more content than on Ubuntu (like the song list in Banshee-1). I like being able to see more without having to scroll so much.
The ‘OpenSuSE 11.0 Gilouche’ theme and artwork of OpenSuSE is what I love most about it, I also love the default color choice and mascot :P In the end, I will be taking the theme and such from OpenSuSE and using them on Ubuntu once again.
So, back to Ubuntu I go…

Hello world!
Today Krystol and I installed Ubuntu (Hardy Heron) on her custom built computer that we made together a few years back. This install was a tiny bit of a challenge at some points because we worked out the whole process over the telephone and I did not have internet access at the time to find extra PPA packages to make it more customized for her. The hardest part was when the first install did not work correctly. She went through the instructions with me, but for some reason at the end of the install it did not restart, it just went back to the CD. We then tried a reboot and it said she needed a system disc to do anything. Sooooo, we reinstalled Ubuntu for a second time, and quite a lot faster since we already went though it once and had our hard drives set up how we wanted them. Success!
I believe she is pretty happy/content with it so far, but we’ll just have to find out as time passes.
Here is a current Screenshot of my computer:

Today I skated for a while by myself.
I went down to the sewer-like place close to Cherry Hill park and skated the bank there. I managed to lose my board on a 360 flip and it got all wet. Not a minute after it was all wet and gross, it was dry again. lol It was way hot out today.
Since it was hot, when I got home I really felt like swimming with someone. And that brought me to missing having a good girlfriend to hang out with.
In the end, I just ate some pop sickles, watched “Jumpers” (which was good but could have been better), “Fool’s Gold” (also good), and some of “Untraceable”. I stopped watching Untraceable half way through since it bored the heck out of me.
Time for bed.

I have always had a problem with the way the iPod sorts music when music is placed on it, all until today!
Today Banshee RC1 came out and I learned how to make it add music to my iPod while automatically sorting it to “Music/ArtistsName/AlbumName/TrackTitle.Extention” on the iPod
I also have my iPod running Rockbox firmware so I can play files types not originally supported by iPods. File types like FLAC, and OGG Vorbis.
Awesome news for me!

Also, the other day was Nick S.’s birthday. We went skating for an hour and some at the skate park. That was pretty fun since we both haven’t been there in a while. Together we skated the mini pipe (which I suck at) and did the table-top rails.

hehe, this is really neat.
Today I decided to see how well I could skin a free/open source WordPress to look as close as possible to my last site’s layout. (I bet most of the people who view this site would not even notice that this site is now being controlled by the WordPress software.)
Now when I make new posts I don’t have to copy all the code and such myself, I just open a text area box, type what I want, and then click Publish. So cool!
Anyways, this is not finished yet. I only spent a few hours learning what was what in the code and working it to the look of my last site. I still need to make a CD Collection page, and finish the About page.
Oh, and now anyone can leave me comments on this website too!
I also added a Google Talk badge to my Contacts page so people with no Jabber or Google Talk account can still chat with me as a guest. They won’t even need to install a program, it all runs live online.
